Prep & Application

FAQ's

  • Yaaaay! First thing that will happen is I will contact you to get your address so that a nail sizing kit can be sent to you. In the kit will be a set of nails on a card with a QR code. Just scan the code to open the form where you can submit each of your fingers nail size. As soon as I get those sizes I will begin painting your nails and send them to you within two weeks along with your Mani Kit for application.

  • Nope! Your kit will come with nail glue, sticky tabs, cuticle remover, cuticle pushers, a nail file, buffer, and alcohol wipes.

  • This really depends on a lot of factors! Nail bed curve, nail bed length, and oiliness are all things you can’t control but have a lot to do with durability. Nail sizing, prep, and application method are all also important when it comes to longevity. Your nails can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks.

  • Sad to see you go, but thank you so much for supporting and having some fun! You can follow this link to manage your subscription.

  • Cause I am just one lady! On top of creating fun things I also have a full time job. 🙂 A 2 week time frame allows me time to recreate your custom set as well as plan for and create next month’s Episode.

  • That'd be me (Sara)! I work full time within the realm of environmental science to survive under capitalism but art’s got my heart. I began doing my own nails during the pandemic and really fell in love with creating tiny works of art, so I created Novela. ♥

  • Novela is a new art venture for me so at this time I cannot offer fully customizable colors for nail sets.

  • Novela is a new art venture for me so at this time I cannot offer changes to nail shapes. I create the art on a specific shape so translation to another might not work. If upon receiving your nail sizing kit the nail shape really will not work with your nail beds please reach out so we can chat about options!

  • Its not recommended as filing can alter the look of the top coat or design, but you have free agency to do whatever you’d like!

  • First and most importantly, be sure to remove carefully to avoid damaging your nail bed!

    Sticker tabs:
    • Soak nails in some hot water with oil and dish soap mixed in for about 10 minutes
    • Using the wooden stick gently pry the end underneath the nail and peel off
    • Peel off old stickers and wash and dry your nails for safe storage
    Nail glue (for reuse)
    • Soak nails in some hot water with oil and dish soap mixed in for about 10 minutes
    • Gently wiggle each nail around to try and loosen the glue
    • Apply the nail glue remover around your cuticles and underneath to the edge of your nail
    • Let sit for a few minutes and use a wooden stick to gently start to pry the nails off
    • If they are still fighting back repeat the soaking step, do NOT apply too much force or you will rip your nail plate!
    • Once you have some lift on an edge, you can use a flosser to slide it under the free edge and gently “saw” through the glue to pop your nail off.
    • Removing gently should maintain the integrity of the nail and allow for one more use. To reuse, file away any excess glue bits, then wash and dry the nails for safe storage.
Nail glue (for one time use)
    • Trim down nails to your natural nail free edge
    • Soak nails in some hotish water with oil and dish soap mixed in for about 10 minutes to loosen the nails as much as you can
    • Use cotton balls soaked in acetone and foil to wrap each finger to soak. You can also buy clips to keep the cotton balls in place, or you can dunk your fingertips in a bowl of acetone but I find that method to be excessive and smelly.
    • Once the nail and glue has softened you should be able to start carefully peeling away/pop off the nails using the wooden stick.
